Day One

Today I see peace in the simplicity of life with animals. They function with such simplistic energy and peace reigns. Mankind could learn so much more if we just learned to observe. A real sense of "Success" for me has come at that time in my life when there is still incredible energy for doing and yet.... is tempered with the wisdom of the journey. I met the little shaggy horses of the Romany Gypsy Culture six years ago in the west country of England where we were living. Over time, we became increasingly captivated by their uniqueness. We spent idealic weekends driving with friends through the narrow lanes in a cart with a sturdy little horse between the shafts. When it came time to return state side, we could not bear to think of leaving not only friends and our sweet village, but these incredible little equines. Now, I say little, while in fact, they average from 13hh to 15hh and though usually black and white, can be any colour. The one characteristic that binds them is their personality. I have rarely met a horse with as much interest in me as I in them. Easy to connect with, train, and enjoy, they are amazing for a breed that is only just being recognized. So, on day one I welcome you to my world.
